Both dogs had a 2 turn track with an article on each turn. Two dogs & a human walked across the area right before I started laying the tracks.

Dylan did better at concentrating on the job at hand than in our last couple of sessions, & he is improving at working in contaminated areas. Started tangentially to actual track at start & 1st turn. Articles 50-50. No problem with direction change at articles. Age 2 hr.
You handled that first distraction beautifully. Nice patience! Gosh I wish they could tell us what they smell—it doesn’t look to me like she’s farting around, she was seriously taken with some odor, and perhaps a little worried about it.. Lovely turn. (Nice lineup!). Lovely next turn too! HEY, you have more line tension! Love it! Betty, that was lovely. I’ll let you decide what to do in prep for her test. She sure looks ready!
ReplyDeleteDylan. In a test, you would likely have followed him on that ‘false’ start. I think I’d ask now, while he’s a ‘baby’ TDX dog, that he find and indicate the start at the start—watch some Fletch videos (I put one up today) to see what I mean. He should show you the direction of the first leg pretty much at the article. Both dogs ere excellent at articles at turns, and are finding the track within a pretty short leash length. I’d ask for that at the start!
