Judi’s woods & hayfield

Seren had a 3 turn track entirely in the woods. Five articles + start & end, all with food in them.

I was very happy with this track. The combination of food in articles & random lie downs in the woods seems to be working as she downed for every article on her own. We’ll see how it goes when I start to decrease the number of articles with food in them

Dylan did a 3 turn tracks in the hayfield, utilizing the bowl area. He needed a verbal cue for start article, but other 2 were automatic. Very nice start & turns.

  1. Seren rocked that! Let’s keep the food in articles for another track or 2, and then randomize it (most have food, one doesn’t). I adore the way she located the first article—she was clearly working scent we will never understand. Off to watch Dylan!

  2. What a gorgeous LOS at the first turn!!!! Nice handling at the second turn—you totally let HIM make the decision. OOOH, the woods are distracting. Good info to have! Third turn, again, gorgeous LOS, and clear straight spine when he refound the track. Awesome!

  4. His start and first turn were BEAUTIFUL! Although the woods were distracting (something to work near again in the future), he re-engaged quickly each time. Nice job!

  5. That looked very nice! I liked the distance and layout of that one. His indications and turns were lovely...the bowl can be a challenge and he handled that well. Agree with Jen about the woods and working on that a bit some in your rotation (woods w/out leaves have lots of sound carrying through them, particularly if there's not much wind). I think the one thing I'd have considered is on the leg where the woods were 'worrying' him some, I'd have taken that opportunity to move up the line and gotten close to see if that nose wouldn't have returned down and the slight tightening of his top line softened a bit.
