Seren tracking

 Oatlands Another couple of tracks to help Seren get accustomed to the grounds here. Partly cloudy, low 60’s, wind 8-10mph, low humidity. 1st track, age 2hr15min, had woods, stream, tall grass, steep hill, board fence. She did well - only problem area was the fence. She indicated the turn, but wasn’t sure she was allowed to go thru the fence. After she finally was convinced it was ok, she did a great job of waiting for me to get thru & then restarting the track. video:    https://youtu.be/A6IDr0GKJUo?feature=shared 2nd track, 2hr old. had 1 turn in tall grass.  Poor Farm Park Dylan:  2 turn track with a stream crossing on 2nd leg. Age 45min. He did great! video:   https://youtu.be/fVZuDu7sJ5c?feature=shared Judi’s field Seren had an 8 turn track laid by Judi. Part in woods. Sunny, 65degrees, 8mph, 40%. 4.5 hrs old.  Oatlands Plantation Sunny, 79 degrees, 74%, 10mph Seren had 2 two-turn tracks. #1 was in open field & was 3 hrs old. Crossed 2 strips of taller grass on 1st leg. Scuff 10, walk 10 for entire track. Occasional food drop. Surprizingly, the strips of taller grass were a bit difficult for her. Started with scuff 10, walk 10, but that got kind of muddled in the woods. However, there was lots of scuffing & occasional food. She was very happy working here & did a good job. She scented the end article but had mild difficulty precisely locating it - over ran it by ~5 steps.  JSR Park Both dogs had a 2 turn track aged 2hr5min. Seren’s track was essentially the same one Dylan did on 10-13, meant to be pretty easy & fun. Good start, pulled nicely. At 1st turn, arced out to the right & came back to track fairly quickly. Tried to cut corner at 2nd. I made her stay on track longer, but she still cut the turn by several feet. Good articles. Most food drops missing due to crows. Tried Dylan’s line to see how I liked it with her - jury is still out video:    https://youtu.be/D0YFa4b-ZHQ?feature=shared Dylan had a pass through gate to bare dirt, then a right turn in the dirt. Article used as ground marker for turn as there was nothing else. Scuffed entire portion in the bare dirt. Minimal food used as there were crows hanging out. Start was a little rough, but it was in a difficult area. He did just fine in the dirt. After the intermediate article, he at first wanted to continue straight, but had no trouble finding the turn.  JSR Park Each dog had a 2 turn track with focus on age Dylan’s track was 2 hours old & mildly contaminated - it looked like some soccer had been played on the field over the weekend. I thought he did an excellent job. Her start was slow - I think she got used to food at the start article faster than I expected. Even tho it wasn’t very windy, the wind was gusting from right to left & pushing the scentup against the fence. She seemed very sure of where she was going, so I went with it. Once she got to the bare dirt, gusts had diminished & she was right on the rest of the way. Stopped & indicated about 6 ft before end article.  Judi’s field. Judi laid a blind track for us. Age 3hr10min. 67 degrees, cloudy, 3mph, 65%.
