Library Seren:  4 turn track with a portion in the woods, a road crossing, 3 hours old. 1-3 food drops per leg. Article in woods had food in it. End article (with food in it) had been moved ~6 ft to the right. She downed where it should have been, then we both caught sight of the article at the same time. It still had one piece of food in it Seren didn’t seem to think this one was as much fun as I thought she would. Ants were an issue & it got hot faster than anticipated - related? There was also a lot more activity at this site than there usually is when library is closed, I felt like I had to rush her across the road as there was a lot more vehicle traffic than normal. As on Tuesday, I like how she recognizes where an article had been. https://youtu.be/_V7tDqo9Qp8?feature=shared

Surry P&R Dylan:  4 turn track, mostly in woods. Scuff start & out of turns, 1 food drop/leg. Age 1 hour. I meant to drop an article in the woods, but forgot. Dylan did very well. Needed verbal reminder for start article, but not end one https://youtu.be/Dvxhht_YQyM?feature=shared

Courthouse Park Seren:  straight line article track, 3.5 hr old. I didn’t notice anyone messing with the track while it was aging, but someone obviously had. The end glove was 2-3 yards to the right of the track when we got to it. Seren hunted for it where it had originally been, then noticed it off to the right & went to it. 5th article (green hat) was gone & she hunted very hard for it, tried especially to go left but I didn’t let her go more than 30ft. She eventually lay down 2-3 yds beyond where it should have been. After we were done, on the way back to the car, I saw it hanging on a fence ~50 yds to the left of the track. Third article (leather belt), she overran by 2-3 strides, stopped on her own & came back to it. I thought it interesting that when I deliberately toss an article to the side of the track, she generally goes straight to it rather than hunting where it ‘should’ have been. I thought Seren did a really good job with this track. https://youtu.be...

Kelly’s Farm Seren:  2 1-turn tracks in open field, age 3 hrs. She did well on starts & turns themselves but petered out during 2nd leg of 2nd track. Too hot? (70 degrees) She didn’t want water. https://youtu.be/X4kPX-cIchc?feature=shared Dylan:  Obstacle track using woods, 1 hr old. I was happy with this in general. Dylan was not a fan of the prickly cover, but he dealt with it. Video shows I definitely looked in direction of last 2 turns - for shame! https://youtu.be/zHAZaNn1N3M?feature=shared

Dorey Park  Seren:  obstacle track using woods. She thought this young track was a real treat after yesterday’s. Wanted to go into woods where we initially encountered them, but couldn’t find track so made correct decision, came back out & did a great job after that. I was very pleased. https://youtu.be/kRg7axmvzfE?feature=shared Dylan:  straight line article track. 8 total articles, 25yd apart, food 10 yd after each article. I think this was his 1st multiple article track. Needed lots of reminders to lie down. Resisted the temptation to go lift his leg on things. https://youtu.be/sSHezxbvswo?feature=shared

Surry P&R Seren:  8 turn stairstep, age 4.5 hours. All turns flagged. Ran into a patch of sandspurs early on, but she persevered & got through that. Had a novel challenge today - man practicing golf on the same field we were using. She handled that ok. Weather app didn’t indicate much wind, but it seemed stronger to me.  Not our best performance, she seemed to get better toward the last half. Articles good (including golf balls) Just looked at video, & it looked better than it felt in real time. I think I was short on patience at the time we ran the track. I’m aware of moving out too soon at least twice, & I’m pretty sure I looked in the direction of the new leg at at least one turn. https://youtu.be/w-JNQt2AKxQ?feature=shared
