Seren tracking

 Pole Green Park Seren:  Straight line track with multiple articles, 2 with food in them, & a road crossing. She did ok, but her enthusiasm was a bit less than on the last 2 zdays, so she will now get a couple of days off before the test https://youtu.be/e8D4eGRlEr0 Dylan:  after the 1st track I laid got trashed by people & dogs playing fetch, I put in a new one in a different location. As I started, saw man walk across 1st leg (maybe others), but I could prepare & put down lots of food in that spot. But then, shortly before it was time to run, the track got trashed again by a group of 2 or 3 families with children. At that point I got the message that Dylan was not supposed to track today.

 Surry P&R Seren had a 4 turn stairstep, each leg 50 yd, aged 4 hours. Double laid.  She had a nice start but got into a patch of sand spurs near the 1st turn, which dampened her enthusiasm some. She recovered nicely once I got her feet de-burred. Overshot most turns, but I felt like I was easily reading her LOS. Increased tension on the line did not deter her when she was on the actual track, but did discourage going in the wrong direction. Did not miss any food drops😄, did ignore the crayfish towers (which appeared abandoned).  Overall, I was pleased https://youtu.be/UwIqsXB4M84 Dylan had a 2 turn track with slightly acute hangman’s turns. Turns were flagged & there was also an extraneous flag on the field, probably left from the last time we were here. He did notice the extra flag, but decided it wasn’t relevant.  Hanover Courthouse  Seren had a 200yd straight line track with 8 articles. Each article except start & end had food on track ~15 steps beyond. Two had food in them. Fifth article was off track to the left. She had a great start until line got snagged, then it was merely good. Indicated all the articles & re-started readily. We had an unplanned fresh crosstrack that was laid just as we were getting ready to run the track. Couldn’t see exactly where the guy went, but I marked it in the map based on Dylan’s behavior.  Courthouse Park Dylan had a 3 turn track with challenges of: snow melt, fairly strong wind, traffic kind of close. Turns were flagged. I was learning to work with new line. I thought he did very well https://youtu.be/uqZ-lF9Aa5E

 Poor Farm Dylan did a 2 turn track with a stream crossing on leg 2. He also got to practice acting civilized when cars go by. Didn’t take him long to solve the stream problem https://youtu.be/Sz3AZxEq9_w
