Hanover High School. Seren did a short 3 turn, 3 hr old in an area with multiple rolling hills.  I was very happy with this session. All 3 articles very good, tho I did have to remind her to stay until I got up to her on the intermediate article. Hills were no issue, ignored vehicle traffic not too far away. At all 3 turns, she checked right first after LOS. Start & attitude good Dylan had a 3 turn track, 1hr old, at Oak Knoll MS, next door to HHS, with same conditions. Start & turns scuffed, food every 40 yds. He was very distracted by traffic on the road, but got back to work when encouraged. Needed verbal reminder to down at articles.

Cricket/soccer fields. Seren had a long distance track. Initial plan was for food drop every 100 yd & age 4 hrs, but just as I finished laying it they began mowing. Rather than scrap the whole thing I re-walked it, doubling the food & decreased age to 3 hrs. Seren handled things pretty well. Lovely start & perfect articles. Tended to wobble on the straightaways so I shortened my line to 10-15 ft. Took a long time to commit on 1st turn, but 2nd was dead on, no hesitation. Drank water a couple of times While Seren’s track aged, we went to Courthouse Park, where Dylan had a by-the-book stairstep track, age 30 min. There was more vehicle traffic than usual, which was pretty distracting, but he always got back to work. Athletic equipment laying around was no issue. I told him to down at start article, did it on his own at end. Had some trouble finding 4th turn (the one with no scuffing at all), which surprised me

Taylor Park. When tracks run, 53degrees, 12mph gusty wind, 49% humidity, sunny Seren did a backward stairstep, with food & articles as marked on map. Age 95min. Good start, excellent articles. Overshot turns 4&6 (left) - I used that opportunity to turn about 30degrees to the right while she looked for the next leg. She did check more to the right, but never actually tried to go in that direction. Dylan did a long straight track with food drop every 40yd. 40 min. old. 4 extra flags along the way. He did well, stayed on task, ate all the food, indicated both articles on his own.

Hanover Courthouse. Seren did a 5 turn track with some minor obstacles & repeating an area (leg 2) where she had some difficulty in the past, so that portion was heavy with the food & scuffing. 5 articles total, at least 1 food drop/leg except first one.  She did very well, all articles good & stayed until I came up & petted her. Ate some grass on 1st leg. No issues with leg 2 with the added augmentation. At the exit from the woods, she felt the need to turn left & roll in something (couldn’t see anything but what a nasty smell). Left it when told, found correct direction fairly quickly. Wanted to cut 4th turn to go directly to article on leg 5 - poor track planning on my part- so I shortened line & kept her on the track. Actually got her to pull a little on last leg Dylan did a 4 turn track aged 50 min. Scuffed start & out of turns, food every 30. Scuffing & extra food on 1st leg where track went between woods & privacy fence. No issues, d...

Surry P&R. Sunny, 42 degrees, 8mph, 49% Only Dylan tracked today. He did a TD-type track which crossed a narrow paved road. Start & turns scuffed, food every 2 steps crossing road. Rest of track had alternating scuff & food every 30 steps He did well, downed at both articles, was only minimally distracted by environmental ‘stuff’. Ate almost all the food but did leave some in the road. Road crossing was not an issue. Tried to roll in something on leg 4

Chamberlayne Elementary. Seren had a 4 turn track, partly in the open woods. I plotted the track the afternoon prior & walked it twice. Laid track @ 7:25 & aged 3 hours. When run, overcast, 73 degrees, 14mph, 83%. Fantastic start & overall quite good except for missing article in the woods (belt) Dylan had a 2 turn track, 40 min old, same weather conditions as above. There were some new challenges for him here - squirrels, sidewalks, trash, storm drains, so I alternated food & scuffing every 10 yds He felt the need to investigate the storm drains, but nothing else was a concern for him. Needed verbal cue to down at start, did it on his own at end article

Surry P&R. Seren did a 3 turn track which incorporated some fairly open woods. Track laid at 10:00 & aged 4hr20min. When track run, overcast, 64 degrees, 11mph, 50%. Food & scuffing as marked on map. Intermediate article in the woods. Comments on map I was pretty pleased with this outing Dylan had a 2 turn track laid @10:15 & aged 20 min. Alternated food & scuff every 30 yd. He did a nice job

Atlee High School. 4 turn track aged 3 hours. 3 intermediate articles. Scuffing & food as on map Start was ok but not terrific. Stopped at all articles but needed verbal down a couple of times. Was easily distracted by other scents on 1st leg but seemed to become more dedicated to the track as we went along. Total length about 460 yds
